Advice For Pools During Autumn/ Winter

Advice For Pool Owners – June 2018

Chlorine has no resistance to the Sun’s radiation.
Pool Stabiliser protects Chlorine from the Sun’s Rays.
Pool pills often contain Pool Stabiliser.
Pool Stabiliser levels above 80ppm cause Chlorine lock. (Blue pool water for years suddenly turns Green).
Pool Stabiliser does not dissipate like pool acid or Chlorine.
Each Pool Pill adds to and is increasing your pool water stabiliser level.
If the Stabiliser level is 100ppm roughly 1/3rd of the pool water must be pumped down and a re-fill with “neutral” water will be necessary.
If the Stabiliser level is 120ppm roughly ½ of the pool water must be pumped down and a re-fill with “neutral” water will be necessary.

Recommended. Have your pool water stabiliser level checked regularly.

You lose about 200 litres of pool water each time you do a proper backwash.
The Old method of Backwashing uses and loses pool water.
Under the New method backwashed dirty water is simultaneously filtered and returned to your pool under your pump’s own power. No Big Storage Tank is required

Recommended. Our Bulldog Backwash System uses a small cartridge container which is connected to your existing pump and filter.

Rampant Black Algae cannot be permanently cured because its long root grows too far away to be affected by any treatment other than by suffocation.
The pool acid added to balance Ph in your pool is slowly breaking down the cement content of your Gunite/Marbelite pool and roughening the surface constantly.

Renovation: We can pump your pool water into Porta Pool temporary storage tanks for the duration of the renovation. Renovate your pool. Pump your stored pool water back.

Fibreglass and Fiberglass lined pools give 4 degrees warmer pool water, No Black Algae, No Roughening of the pool surface, and the pool’s investment value is restored.
Fibreglass and Fibreglass lined pools can be sanded and re-coated and the pools investment value is restored.
Fibreglass Tissue Mosaics are thin and fade over time.
We stopped recommending and installing them years ago.
We apply Ceramic Pool Mosaic tiles to Cement Plastered / Gunite / Marbelite / Fibreglass / Fibreglass lined Pool Surfaces.
Cracks in your pool and at your pool side or on your Mosaic pattern may be caused by expansion and contraction.
Fixing the cracks without addressing the expansion and contraction issue treats the effect but not the cause – the effect will return.

Our Pool Report will tell you what’s wrong and what can be improved upon, why that is so, how to fix it and how much it will cost per item recommended. The choice is yours for what you want done.
