This disused Koi Pond was re-purposed into a swimming pool for the owners.
POOL RENOVATION INCLUDED:
- Extensive preparation of the host surface included stripping away the rubberised painted surface and repairing all the cracks and little holes in the host surface.
- Additional resin bonding coats and layers of matting were applied to prepare the pool for the final Fiberglass coating in light grey.
- Application of black ceramic mosaic tiles complemented the grey Fibreglass lining.
- A water spout was installed in the existing decorative wall on the one side of the pool.
- A new pump and filter were installed.
- Stainless steel steps were installed to minimise space take up.
HOW LONG DOES A SMALLER POOL RENOVATION TAKE US?
► No two pool renovations necessarily take the same amount of time.
► Each renovation is different depending upon the factors pertaining to that particular pool.
FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE THE TIME TAKEN INCLUDE:-
- Size, depth, and, the shape of the pool.
- Ease of access/ positioning of the porta pools relative to where the pool is situated.
- Issues related to the pool superstructure may be uncovered once all the water is pumped out.
- The repair work that is required to address the issues related to the pool superstructure including
curing latent water ingression. - Additional work such as the installation of new suction and return lines, replacement of the pump
and filter, installation of a salt chlorinator, installation of a backwash water saving mechanism also
impacts the time taken to complete the reno. - Application of new pool tiles such as ceramic mosaic pool tiles and the amount of tiling work required.
Generally, smaller pool renovations take between 5 and 8 working days to complete.
