The mosaics on this swimming pool were retained and a new Fibreglass lining was applied.
POOL RENOVATION INCLUDED:
- The entire pool surface was acid washed to neutralise probable lime content from the ageing Marbelite lining and to prepare the pool surface for the new Fibreglass lining.
- A base coat consisting of multiple layers of resin together with chop-strand matting was applied.
- The mosaics on the step area and martini set were removed and new matching ceramic mosaics were applied.
- A final finishing coat in Cape Grey was applied to the surface of the pool.
- A new l.e.d. retro-fit pool light was installed.
- The pool water was stored in porta pools for the duration of the pool renovation.
HOW LONG DOES A SMALLER POOL RENOVATION TAKE US?
► No two pool renovations necessarily take the same amount of time.
► Each renovation is different depending upon the factors pertaining to that particular pool.
FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE THE TIME TAKEN INCLUDE:-
- Size, depth, and, the shape of the pool.
- Ease of access/ positioning of the porta pools relative to where the pool is situated.
- Issues related to the pool superstructure may be uncovered once all the water is pumped out.
- The repair work that is required to address the issues related to the pool superstructure including
curing latent water ingression. - Additional work such as the installation of new suction and return lines, replacement of the pump
and filter, installation of a salt chlorinator, installation of a backwash water saving mechanism also
impacts the time taken to complete the reno. - Application of new pool tiles such as ceramic mosaic pool tiles and the amount of tiling work required.
Generally, smaller pool renovations take between 5 and 8 working days to complete.
